Project Update: Former Jewish Cemetery Site now belongs to Akwedukt!
An archival boundary assessment of the former Jewish cemetery has been completed, providing a verified delineation of the site’s historical extent. This work establishes a clear foundation for its preservation and future use.
Following this, a lease agreement has been signed for the former Jewish cemetery located on Kościuszki Street. The site will serve as a dedicated space for activities organized by the Youth Space initiative, with a focus on outdoor programs, educational workshops, and community engagement.
In the coming months, efforts will concentrate on securing and preparing the area. Planned works include the construction of a protective fence and the adaptation of the space to ensure it is suitable, accessible, and respectful of its historical significance while supporting ongoing youth-oriented activities.
The project is funded by the European Union under the program “Tool for Empowerment.”
